This project started after I keep a serie of photograph’s that I thought that was the most powerful and significative for the proj- ect [1965-1979], was the photos in the Fort of Cecil Rhodes. Cecil Rhodes was the discoverer of the lands and colonizing Rhodesia, hence deriving it’s name.
And after all ruins are just vestige of the past.
I was interested to start to deconstructed the documents and all of the caracther’s that can be related to this place that no longer exists. So I created a symbiosis between bought, the photographs and the documents, joining the two sources of information. The connection between them was made by ink, the white ink that gives a form to the landscape and the white ink covering the adress and causes the “erased” action.
